in the afternoons
i put on your sweater
i wore your shoes
i ran my hand down your back
buried myself in these thick blankets and
set fire to the bed
outside in the sunny pink taste of day
the birds hid in my hair and
we looked over our shoulders
i pinned you to a wall
i made you look at me straight
we kissed and swapped secrets then
spread our filth across the grass
later night wrapped around like a stream
we didn't have enough money
counted time on our fingers
you hid your head in my lap
you rang over and over in my ears
you lay me on the floor and
drilled my body into a void
